  • "Based on" doesn't mean much. I just saw it on a TV in a hotel room, but it was good and creepy-scary. I dunno about "too scary" for you, since we've only just met.
  • No, the website was set up by the production company in order to increase interest in the movie. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Blair_Witch_Project
  • It movie was a piece of sh!t...I watched that whole movie while laughing at it's lame-ness..All the movie show is kids running around in the woods while searching for "Blair Witches", 1 dude throws the map away so try get "lost", & one other dude goes missing...At the end, they find a beat-up house & they claim they see a dead body..but the camare doesn't show it..
  • I had too many people with stronger stomachs than I have tell me all the camera motion made them queasy...and I've been made queasy by too much motion before. not only did I not feel like getting sick, the story didn't really intrigue me that much, and some friends told me it wasn't that great..and I trust their opinions...
  • Hi Honey, this is my own personal opinion, but the film is a waste of time and in no way scary, it is poorly shot and has no plot to it, i was very disapointed in it
  • The movie is not based on fact, although there is a myth of a blair witch of sorts. The website was set up, a matter of marketing genius, by the production company. It was stated right before the movie was released that it was not a documentary at all. Those were three actors, all of whom are still alive and well. I thought the movie was fairly well done considering they were unknown actors and the budget was extremely low. There were scary parts & the end, if you pay attention through the whole movie, kicks ass. Go rent it - it's worth it.
  • I dont think it is.
  • It scared the crap out of me - I got lost in big woods once and they portrayed that part wonderfully in the movie. The idea that some witch could have been stalking me also added to the scariness of it all... Great little movie but NOT TRUE : )
  • i dont think its crap i have studyed this film for years now and i have chose to belive that it is true
  • It's taken from certain events, but as all "Based on a troo storeeiez!!1!1" promotions go, this diverges more than imaginable when you learn about the real events, which included a child murderer. I thought it was a good movie, at least, different, but if you're expecting you run off the mill general horror, this isn't it. It basically catalogues the events of three youths doing a project on the so called Blair Witch, and what you see is a recording of their excursion in the forest as strange, inexplicable events occur, and you witness their eventual spiraling down towards near dementia. It's all kept on a realistic level however, therefore the visual production is rather shoddy in order to establish a sense of authenticity, but in no way should this be taken as something that actually happened. If it was all real, they wouldn't be allowed to show the actual footage to the public. I can't say if you'll find it scary or not...some people were totally freaked out, others fell asleep. There are a few movies in this genre, that is, told through documented and apparently true events, although Blair Witch is what exposed it as a legitimate sub horror genre, false documentary type thing.
  • it is an awesome movie, but i wouldn't recommend it for anyone under 16, even though i watched it when i was 13!
  • This movie could be too scary only if you know nothing about making movies, no nothing about actors, and know nothing about special effects. Based on a true story means that someone, somewhere, once was killed, and it remained unsolved. This movie was filmed with a hand-held camera, using an non-professional grade of film. To get a better perspective, think for yourself. Who provided the costumes? Did the actors have make-up applied? Who was the lighting expert? If you have never been part of a production, I urge you to join a theater company, or get a job in a movie production studio.
  • It is a good movie. The first time I saw it, I was a little scared about it. It is a fictional movie.
