If you mean, how do you determine an overall score at the end of 18 holes, you must have the player finish out every hole and add up the strokes. Quite often when playing "skins", finishing out every whole is not imperative after the winner of the hole is apparent. If you don't finish a hole you can't determine a final overall score.
