Is anyone else sick of actors using award ceremonies to push their own personal views on the public?

Yes, I am. I don't watch award shows anymore, but when I did I wanted the show to be about the topic at hand, not everything else they could bring into it.

Award shows have gotten sooo boring anymore. I just catch who wore what and who won the next day somewhere.

I may get down rated for this, but..... I would be so happy if KATHERINE HEIGL would go way! She shares her hatred for Isaiah Washington every changes she gets. Enough already! I didn't care before and don't care now!

Award shows to me are like rubbing lard on the ass of a pig. They get all the money and then they need a bunch of people to kiss up to them and hand them a worthless dust collector. No thanks, I will be on AB or sleep instead.

Yes I am, it sickens me to think these people who NEED attention SO badly to go into those kinds of careers are so blinded by their fame that they actually think someone like you or I might think "Gee, if So-in-so thinks like that I guess I ought to too!"

I tuned out long ago. If I need to know who won, I'll read it the next day.

The only time I watch an awards show is to see Johnny Depp on them, and even then, I'll flip to it only occasionally to see if he's up for an award, or accepting it. He's sooo very hot!!

ya know, just thank everyone and smile and get off the stage for crying out loud! the show is about the movie/tv show/music/play you performed on/in. get on your soapbox somewhere else! I do agree that the award shows are getting much more boring. used to be I wouldn't miss them. now I flip around. did anyone else find the recent Emmy Awards a snooze? Did Sally Field seemed even more whacked than usual (and I do enjoy her acting....)?

Yes! Just make your movie, sing your song. I also tire of movies being made with an "agenda".

Yes. It's not the proper place and time for such a thing. They are so full of themselves they actually think people care what they think.

You know almost no one even watches it anymore because of that,that pisses me off, I don't care about their views just make the movies and shut up!

Not really. Most people do it. Push their personal beliefs, that is. It's just not everybody gets televised. I quite like the dramatic speeches, they entertain me. And every now and again you get a really nice one that makes you love the winner for a little minute. Then again, I don't really watch award shows anyway. The Brits. The British Comedy awards, I like that one. I watched the BAFTA's once, most boring thing of my life.
