My brother's answer is correct. However, in a situation like this, I think that an answer should be clearer than the one that he gave. The number one greenhouse gas in our atmosphere is water vapor. According to the textbook from which I teach earth sciences (http://vig.prenhall.com/catalog/academic/product/0,1144,0132401355,00.html), water vapor traps five times more heat than ALL of the other greenhouse gases COMBINED and the authors of this book believe that it is us that are causing global warming. I have seen other estimates that place water vapors contribution even higher. So, water vapor, not CO2, is by far the most important greenhouse gas there is.
