Aside from fighting in a war, I am a single father. No G/F or wife. To me the harder of the 2 jobs is being an understanding, patient father. Are there any other single parents out there? If so, is it hard for you at times as well?

I am proud of you and yes I brought up my sons all by myself with NO child support and yes times were very tough and rough at times + 5

For the military part of your life I have to say thanks. I'm proud of our military men and women anyway, but I cannot imagine how much harder it must be as a single parent. The struggles of a single parent though I am learning and it's a war of sorts itself. It's so unbelievably hard at times. I try not to get discouraged, but when the money runs out 2 weeks before the month does it's hard not to. I try hard not to let my depression show around my kids, but it isn't always easy. You sound like an incredibly happy person though and your kids will see that.

Keep your chin up! I was a single parent in college and I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes the last thing you want to do is smile at stick figure drawings, and kiss scraped knees, or kindly refuse to buy every toy on TV, and be regaled with stories about snack time! But, when it's all said and done, there's nothing more rewarding than being a parent. I remember very specifically breaking down one time when my crappy VCR refused to work, and my son came up and hugged me and told me he loved me, and he was only two at the time :o) Take every day one step at a time, because that's as fast as anyone can go :o) Most importantly, take time for yourself and refuse to feel guilty about it. If you aren't recharged you sure can't care for others as well. Also, thank you for your service!

Its damn hard especially if u r the one that doesn't have custody, but the thing about it is that your kids make u feel like u r the best thing since sliced pizza @ those special moments u have when u least expect it.

Mr. Ruffryder... welcome home. My hat goes off to you on the fatherhood part. Parenting is serious business and I decided that I was not cut out for it long ago. I hope that some nice gal from AB decides that she would like to be your girlfriend or wife in the near future so your little girl has a mommy figure.

yes I feel you, I am single mother two boys, 6 and 3.. and is so hard keeping two full time jobs... i've done it before and it was killing me, rightnow I only have one job and i am strugglin big time.. is so hard.. only god knows how much I be struglin..but I will never loose my faith, that one day God will put a good man in my life.. and so do you, dont ever loose your faith...
