My BLT sandwiches include a mild cheese (mozzarella or jack cheese) and avocado along with the tomato and lettuce..if I had to choose, I'd say the avocado was my favorite thing! :)

Every part has to be good for the sandwich to work. The bacon has to be top notch, crispy and not too fatty. The bread has to be good bread. The lettuce can't be wilted but has to be crisp and crunchy just like the bacon. And the tomato has to be rich and sweet, meaty:-) But it's the bacon that really makes it sing. Leave that out and you have plain salad with really big croûtons lol!

It is not just one thing. BLT's are one of the perfect blends of flavors. The smokey bacon enhanced by the fresh tomato set off by the crisp clean lettuce all held together by the creamy mayonnaise. Now we have to have BLT's for lunch.
