  • I know the drug, however I do not know the "right" dosage for canines, nor do I know the "expected" side effects for canines. I did find this: http://www.cvmbs.colostate.edu/ivapm/professionals/members/qow/tramadol.htm Might have some useful information for you. I do not know what a "little fast" means or what you are basing that against. Memory is a tricky thing and I would assume that a trip the vet was not a thing that left you without worries. I am assuming that there is just cause to medicate your dog with a narcotic pain reliever for moderate to moderately severe pain, obviously something rather unpleasant has happened which may have you hypersensitive to the dogs reactions and actions thus what you are perceiving as a little fast may be your concern for the well being of your dog. I doubt that the doctor overdosed your dog. Humans that overdose on Tramadol usually have shallow breathing, slowed breathing, difficulty breathing. As a narcotic agent it tends to put people (I would assume canines as well) to sleep, slowing heart rate and respiration not speeding them up.
  • I found this site info on Tramadol....I'm not familier with it's use for animals at all...so it was a bit surprising to me that this was the drug of choice. For what sort of specific pain is she in treatment for? http://gsm.about.com/compact/showtext.asp?cpnum=621&monotype=full&match=B&gname=Tramadol&r=6078
