How did the town of Brick, NJ get its name?

    The name comes from a man named Joseph brick, Point pleasant was also once a part of brick.

    we have two bricks brick township and brick city lol brick city is referring to newark because there's so much crack there and large amounts of crack cocaine is called a brick (like a kilo) a lot of times you hear references to brick city because brick towship is alot of woods and nobody really cares about it too much it's in ocean county

    During the Depression, the Federal Writers Program of the WPA produced a book of place name origins, from which I got this information.
