6th Anniversary of 9/11, how many 9/11 questions are going to show up today (and I am not dismissing what happened, I am just bothered by people/politicians using it to tug on emotional heart strings). And please, no points, just thoughts.

i think we can expect the giuliani campaign to abuse this not just today, but for the rest of the time he remains in the race. not that this will be a long time, but it could get pretty bad before its all over. as far as the issue itself goes, we as a country need to realize there is more to life than 9/11. sadly we focus on something that happened 6 years ago when all the while we have problems that are going unseen and undetected. corporate fatcats are using it as a distraction, kim jong il laughs at our stupidity, and china collectively sheds a tear of joy about our trade deficit. yes 9/11 was terrible, but we need to stop using it to justify everything and we need to focus on the now. lets start by throwing out every remnant of the patriot act. also history channel has been running some awesome programs the last few days. very fact based. helping people make sense out of the conspiracy theory garbage thats going around.

I think the people in New York will have a hard time with this for years to come. So will those family members of the people on the hijacked planes that day. I would be more than willing to respond to those people, but probably not as interested in general conversation all day. I have to leave for work now... two people in my office are originally from NYC. Wish me luck.
