  • I'm with you on the touching thing because it's gross to look at, but people seem to notice frequently that I eat only one item at a time. When there's nothing left of beans, for instance, then I start on the potatoes until they're gone. The only exception is when I blend two items together, but then I eat them as though they were a single item and don't consume anything else until the nix is gone. I like to shape mashed potatoes into a cube before I eat them, also.
  • I don't like my food to mingle. I eat the tastiest thing last. I don't like sweet things with regular food. (ham and pineapple, for example)
  • I can't eat my dinner sitting at the dinner table I have to go eat on the lounge. Long story. :)
  • I have to use my fork and knife in the same hand! I change when I need to cut something, then change back to eat it!
  • Wow, do I feel weird now! I like to mix it all together. I like the flavors mingled and interesting. If I don't actually stir them together, I will take several food items in a single or follow up bite so that I can have the shared flavors. I never thought my eating style was weird until I read that so many of you do the separation thing.
  • Divide and conquer! After 43 years I figured I would eventually grow out of it. Still waiting? NO touching! I eat one thing at a time and seem to move my plate in a clockwise motion (or use many plates or divider). I HATE gravy (it is the evil conduit that brings food together)! I am very glad to see that you have come out of the pantry on this issue. I have often thought of starting a support group for our kind (I always seem to meet up with one or two in my travels). We are not alone, but our food is.
