Well as the majority of people voted for him, Priminister John Howard, I don't think that makes them more intelligent.
-
I'd like to say more intelligent, but as more than half voted for him, I'd be lying.
-
Individually, yes. But, collectively, apparently not. Dubya got to have two terms somehow.
-
But did more than half vote for him? I though he got something like 25 million votes, or was it 50. Maybe the smart people don't vote
-
In this particular country, 99.999 are. And I included the wildlife population in that calculation.
-
We're less intelligent. Most of us can't read or write and our knowledge of the world is limited to a 6 village radius.

That is a tough one. I very much dislike Prime Minister John Howard of Australia, and did not vote for him. I do think that he is a very smart political figure, whether that translates to him actually being intelligent is hard to figure. He is cunning politically and lies like nothing else. I think that he is probably on par with a lot of the population of Australia. He would be average, and as there are idiots and very smart people, this places him in the middle.
-
I think, generaly, the leader is a good representative of the population as a whole.

"when you are a failure at everything else you become a politician"---sorry I can't remember who said it.
-
Now less, with the previous prime minister more

In Russia where I live most of people have higher education and a lot of people are intelligent. And to answer to your question is very difficult now, because Putin is intellifent enough. But when we had such leaders as Breznev, Hrushov, Stalin, then of couse I can tell about them that they were not intelligent at all.
-
In America, most of the population is less intelligent than the current president. One clear example of this would be the assumption by many people in America that because a person is not an eloquent public speaker, he must not be very intelligent. George Bush is actually a very intelligent man, but because he maintains certain values and is not a very eloquent speaker, people think he's "dumb." I don't like the man, but that doesn't make him a moron.

I don't know how to tell. They certainly have better connections with the right people. They can usually talk well in front of crowds. They usually have a better education, but that doesn't mean they are more intelligent. We all have things that we can do better than others. Intelligence is hard to measure.I think the question would be are they good effective, intelligent leaders.

I'm impressed with your ability with understanding four different languages. That's quite an accomplishment. I apologize for discounting the word learnt being used in a foreign country. It is not an accepted word here in the states. I should have been more specific. I thank you for pointing out this to me so in the future I will be more sensitive to proper usages of words in other countries. However, your assessment of Bush having an education of a twelve year old and just of the third grader is ludicrous. Your smarter than that! You just don't like him and just put him down. I don't care for him nor his policies either. It's true he is no genius, but I'd like to see you fly an F16 they way he can. I can't think of any 3rd grader nor 12 year old from any country that could manage that. You must admit that would be a skill that would require more intelligence than you give him credit for.
-
It all depends on how one defines intelligence.
