I don't know how I did it. I guess I just gritted my teeth and kept going. Friends helped a lot and it took a long time. Many times I just broke down. It's a tough time to go through...but it was the best diet I was ever on.:)

I think the unexpected losses are the toughest..at least for me. When my Dad died he just took his regular nap before going off to work (he worked nights)..but never woke up. It was such a shock..we had no time to prepare. When my best friend committed suicide..well, that was 20 years ago and I'll never get over it. When my mom passed several years ago, her health was failing for a few years so it was expected and less traumatic. The worst loss, the most dreadful thing I can imagine, would be the loss of a beloved child..I have not (thankfully) had to experience that. I cried for weeks when my dad passed..out of the blue..at work..at a market..he died in 1960 so that phase has long-since passed. I am still crying inside for my friend..and my mom's quality of life had deteriorated greatly,so to us she just moved on to a better place and there was less sadness.
