It's horrible. Seeing some of the pictures of it almost makes me cry. It doesn't matter how bad a war has gotten - armies should never resort to the harming of innocent children. What's worse is that they got away with it.

Do you really think anyone is going to say "I think it was great"? I think the use of Napalm on anyone is a bad thing.
-
Bad, certainly. However, no worse than the use of guns, bombs, grenades, missiles, bayonets, or toxic chemicals on all of the men, women, and children that the US has killed throughout history.

Somehow, I doubt it was the "government's" (the Army, really) intent to deliberately use napalm on children -- it was just collateral damage. You must un-ask the question.

Read "The Child in the Picture" to find out what one of the most famous victims thinks!

Sort of a loaded question. If we specifically designed napalm as a weapon against helpless Vienamese children and specifically targeted them then clearly it would have been very bad. I don't believe that was the case. In world war 2 both Axis and Allied planes firebombed and destroyed entire cities knowing full well that there were innocent civilians (including children) living there that would surely die. I think we're getting better in terms of accepting civilian casualties in war but far more important would be to see war for what it really is... a bane on humanity.

It's unfortunate and sad that children were hurt. There was one individual, none of us liked some of the things he was saying, we brought it up to the Company Commander and he was stateside in about a month. I had to share duty with one man one the river from about midnight to seven am. I reported his firing on civilian watercraft and he went stateside. Wyatt Earp was post Mi-Lai and the big mouth was pre so evidently the US Navy took seriously that not everywhere was a free fire zone. Does anybody have a similar experience with crazies? I do have to add that when fired upon fire would be returned. Count on it like daylight in the morning.
