  • Try small steps: a 15 minute walk a day, building this up or get off public transport (if you use it) one stop early and walk.Find a friend to motivate you-you could talk as you go.If you feel a group like Weight Watchers would help, go for that. Also, make changes to your diet, skimmed milk not full-fat, creme freche not cream ,wholemeal bread not white etc.Good luck
  • I found a photo of me when I was slim and a photo of my at my fattest. I have a photocopy of these pictures on my wardrobe door and on my fridge door to keep me focused. Everytime I lose another 7lb I treat myself to something nice (non edible) It works for me.
  • All you need is a little control on proportions. Just be sure not to eat more than your fists clunched together within a 3-4 hour period. It really doesn't matter what you eat as long as you eat what you really crave. Also, don't give yourself a goal weight to be, just give yourself a weight to be under. For example, I'm 5'7" and I figured, as long as I'm under 130 I'm not terribly fat. Really, thinking like that helps a lot. And exercise isn't just for weight control. You can use it purely for the good feeling it gives you. (Like my coach says, "When you run everyday, you eat better, sleep better, think better, and feel better." )
  • Try dieting or exercising with friends! its so much easier that way... if youre a "snacker": eat 6 SMALL meals a day... if not: eat only 3 meals a day, and if you need to snack, have some celery or carrots or even some fruit. if you find yourself wanting to cheat, make a jar. and every time you do, stick a dollar in the jar... of course give the jar to a family member or a friend. hope i helped :) good luck!
