It was vast. It's hard not to be blown away by it, but I've got to say, it rates pretty low on the places I've been to. There's beauty there, but I've travelled to quite a few places that I've found to be a bit more enthralling.

My family went in October few years ago it was beautiful ! . We stayed on the south rim. The scenery looked unreal it was hard to believe we were actaully looking at the mountian. We didnt do a lot of hiking since we had kids with us , but we did get up to watch the sunrise one am. It was amazing . The higher altitude did give me a headache and it was cold and rained a few days we were there. All The food served at the resturants wasl less than hot , it took me a few days to realize that at the higher altitude that was a as warm as it could get..lol However it was really worth the trip and we plan on going back soon.

ooh wow! I was about 10 years old. My family goes everywhere. I really mean everywhere. We take lots of vacations and when we do, we make the most out of it. At that time, I think it was winter break and we were driving from Los Angeles. When we started getting close, it started to snow. I hadn't really experienced snow considering I live in sunny California. It was like the epitome of Christmas...winter wonder land...When we finally got to the canyon, it was an amazing site. I think the color is beautiful, but I know I've been to better places. I hit 5 continents before I was 15...anyway...On a scale of 1-10 on the places I've been probably a 4...It was nice, but not amazingly mind blowing. I think if I go there again, I would probably want to take the extra trip to the bottom of the canyon. I think from the pictures I've seen, it's probably worth the extra time and money. What about you?

i've taken 10 mile (or so) hikes to havasupai in the grand canyon and i'd say it's ranked pretty high on places i've been. keep in mind i'm quite obsessed with nature. there are many beautiful waterfalls and caves and places to hike and things to climb on. i love it! here's some visuals for ya.

I've been several times but never flown over it in anything but a commercial jet nor have I rafted the Colorado Rievr (yet). I would rank it in the top 20 places I've been worldwide. Yes, it is big, it's deep, it's shapely, and something everyone that can, should experience once in their life. I do want to return and experience the new clear platform that extends out from the rim and allows a person to look straight down thousands of feet to the canyon below . That would be a rush!

It is very amazing. Of course I just went to the top of the Grand Canyon. It was still beautiful, and with the addition of that new sky walk it will be even more fun. I hear the trip down is way better than the top. I would rank it on a scale of 1-10, a 7.

I've been to the South Rim and found it amazing. I've also rafted down the Colorado River for 2 weeks and it was one of the most wonderful and exciting trips I've ever made. I've been to Yellowstone and Yosemite and they're all great. I can't really compare one scenic spot to another, each is unique in its own way. I would recommend you visit all.

I see the Grand Canyon at least twice a year, when I go visit my grandsons in AZ. They live about an hours drive away so we go there for a day and have a picnic. You should if ever you can go in winter time when there is snow on the ground, if the sunlight hits it just at the right time the snow looks pink. It is beautiful.
