Will my chinchilla be upset if it knows a ferret is in a cage in the same room

I own 2 house ferrets in the UK, and yes I think your chinchilla will become upset as ferrets are predators of rodents and may feel abit scared. I also have a pet rat (ferrets eat rats in the wild) and he was very stressed by their smell even when they werent in the same room. I would suggest you take a cloth or something with their smell on and see how your chinchilla reacts to it.

Generally if it is on opposite sides of the room you shouldnt have a terrible problem but as the other poster stated , take thier smell (ferrets) and put it on a cloth and place it in the room and gradually get them used to it
