  • Ouch. 5 feet? That's a serious problem there. Even though everything may look okay, there is a chip installed in the Nintendo DS that is extremely sensible. This chip recognizes the battery power, game memory, and usage settings. Basically, it's the main server that controls your entire DS. If your DS fell from about 5 ft., then I would say that they chip is broken from there. Your DS will no longer function properly anymore.
  • If it turns on for a second, then shuts off, your F2 fuse is blown. this is the most common problem with dropped or submerged DS consoles. It is possible to fix, I have "jumped" the fuse before with a straight wire many times and had them working again. If it wont charge, then its the F1 fuse. the same fix can be done. I don't know of many people that are able to repair this kind of problem. your best bet is to buy a used one, and sell the broken one on eBay for around $30. Sorry
