  • I also know a lot of cops and yes most of them break the law because they can get away with it.
  • I should answer this question, but i will stand on the 5th.
  • Police Officers are human just like you or I. I could tell you a few horror stories but let us just suffice us to say they abuse more than just traffic laws.
  • No, it's not just you, I know of a few too
  • I know several that are not so (let's say innocent).
  • Well if Officer Pennington is as Dudley DoRight as he pretends(No offense John, I don't know you, but you seem more than a bit uptight on here at times!) Then he is a lot more of the exception than the rule from my experience. Most cops that "smoke" get the BEST stuff cuz they know the best sources, and either rob them blind price wise or "confiscate" it. I don't even want to think about or go into the sexual abuse or misconduct they get away with because they know how and can.
  • I have known a few police officers and I would say it depends on the branch or type of policing they do. Back in CA the highway patrolmen that I knew were mostly great guys who did care about the law at all times. But the sheriffs or local police were a different matter. They did questionable things all the time, whether at work or off duty. They always said that if you couldn't get a job in any other branch of the law, you could make it as a local sheriff or deputy. They often used and abused their position or power. They even use their siren just to move through traffic. They'd stop people just for driving a red sports car because they knew you must be doing something wrong. I always thought it takes one to know one. But the CHiP officers I knew were alright guys. They were honest and helpful neighbors and some wee good friends who were very law abiding. Haven't found their like in New York yet. All I see are police parked facing the wrong way along the highways checking out the speeders.
