  • This depends on what you want to change. If you just want to change a rule or regulation, then you need to follow the procedures in the governing documents (CC&R's). For example, if you want to change a rule that prevents basketball hoops from being attached to the front of your house, you would look to the CC&R's to see how to change the rule. Usually you will need to propose the rule and then get a certain number of people to agree to it. Some CC&R's give the board descretion to change rules without a vote. If you want to change the CC&R's, this will usually require approval of most or all members, but the requirements are also laid out in the CC&R's. For example, if you want to change the number of board members or abolish the HOA. Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions are the association's governing documents IF it is just an HOA rule you want to change, you need to follow the CC&R's
