Gawd yes! I never understood how they called it "stock" as the only factory parts in/on the car for as long as I can rememebr were a reworked engine block and a small percentage of the body and they all used the same frame. I didn't know that cars that came from the factory with unibody construction HAD frames, at least nothing like that. Ditto the solid rear axle. Even the body was reshaped and made of non-stock materials. How many of the showroom cars that these "stock" cars are based on have an available V-8? How many were RWD? While there are some, my point is that if the answer is anything other than, "All of them!", then the sport is fundamentally flawed and the "Car of Tomorrow" makes matters worse. Take a page from the foreigners. Require all cars to use the stock factory frame and engine block from a mass-production vehicle (over 50,000 produced AND SOLD). No VIN? No race. Race car based on a limited run car like the GT-90 or Viper? No race.
