God doesn't make us sick. Our choice to sin makes us sick.

Many people have asked the questions like: Why was this person born blind? Why is this person crippled? Why can't this couple have children? Why is this person sick? These are some of the mysteries about which humans have been asking God for answers since the beginning of time. Even Job, a just man, asked God why were so many bad things happening to him. If God gets the credit, he also needs to accept the blame. We just get sick in life and crap happens to us. It is the evolution of life, its cycles, etc. We live, we die. No Gods, no ghosts.

That's a very powerful question. Thanks. It's made me think about things in a new way. . Typically Christians claim that bad things are due to our poor use of the free will god gave us. In some cases that argument is tough to counter. After all - wars can certainly be attributed to people making bad choices, and the current financial crisis and even tragedy from natural disaster since people chose to live in areas where hurricanes, tsunamis, etc might hit them. Mind you - I don't accept this line of thought but it is a common one. But people get sick, mostly from bacterial and viral infection. People didn't even know about such things until very recently in our history and a large part of the human world probably still doesn't today. Evolution simply states that where DNA or life can find a way to exploit other forms of life to help its own prorogation it will. Sometimes, for the exploited, to ugly ends. Bacteria and viruses (virii?) evolved to be very good at exploiting certain creatures but not others. Most of them can't infect people and fish and flies. Most of them specialize to a huge degree. But Christians, at least the Creationist ones, claim that god created every living creature and that evolution is a lie. But if that is true, then god created deadly pathogens specifically tailored to make people sick or dead - sometimes quite horribly so. And he created them so small that "His Children" had absolutely no defense against them. Prayer has shown never to be effective - and sometimes, if done communally, can actually speed the spread of a diseases. It seems to me that this question raises an entirely new class of argument. Nothing any person could have done through most of Christian history, no choice he made, could have made any difference in whether he got infected or not. So, why DID the all loving, all powerful god create these means of making his flock sick, miserable, and dead? +5

So you can have a couple of days off work!!! Yay!!!!!! errrrr, how sick are you talking about here? Long term so you can't work? Perhaps he wanted you to have a different view of the world. Perhaps he is saving you from a low-paid oppressed factory worker type life. Maybe, for some reason, he wants you to spend more time with those caring for you. I once met an amputee, who never managed to indulge in his hobbies until he lost some limbs! No, I really wouldn't want to give up my limbs either, surely we could have both our limbs and our hobbies! The short answer is that we don't know unless God specifically tells us. The Christian idea that our sin makes us sick may be true, but it is also contradicted by the story of Job, who suffered sickness and disaster even though he did not sin. Plus, Jesus himself had something to say on the matter, along the lines of "some people are made sick so that God's power can be seen through them." (Something like that, read the Bible somewhere between Matthew and John.)

Which God are you talking about? The christian god, muslim god, and jewish god are all false gods. The ones who run those shows like people to get sick so that people will come running back to their false spiritual programs in hopes of being healed. You have a better chance of healing yourself. The true Gods, Satan and the original Demon Gods do not desire people to be ill, but they are fed up with the disrespect coming from the members of the false spiritual programs like christianity. These true Gods actually like to help heal people, but most people have been lied to so many times, that they actually fear getting help from the true original Gods. Respect can go a long way.

He doesn't actually exist, but those who keep the lie of christianity going cause bad things to happen to people so that people will continue to fear "God" and be more easy to control. Our true Creator doesn't want people to be sick, but instead wants people to empower themselves and be able to prevent sickness.
