  • Purchase a product called "After-Bite" and dab it onto all the itchy bites. It works wonders for me.
  • chamomile lotion works well go to the drugstore to look for anti itch creams. Also if your bites are inflamed an anti inflammatory like ibuprofen could take the swelling down. And as hard as it sounds don't itch, it spreads the irritation and cause more problems. Wrap your bites up in gauze so you can't unconsciously scratch.
  • Ice works for me. Or since you have so many maybe you can soak a clean cloth in ice water.
  • Take Salt and water OR Baking soda and water ,make a paste and put it on each bite
  • lavender oil or lotion works !
  • try some after bite and maybe even some antihistamines.
  • If the reaction is that bad, you may want to go the antihistamine route. Diphenhydramine (benadryl) works well, but it will make you sleepy. (Good thing at night). Clariton during the day, but not as effective. Try compresses with ammonia or vineger. The other suggestions are worth a try. Best is to apply an insect repellant before hand. You can make one out of catnip or catmint but it doesn't last long (it grows wild everywhere). Look it up on wikipedia.
  • Hydrocortisone cream works pretty well...a good dose of benadryl wouldn't hurt either :)
  • rub deodorant on the bites works like a charm
  • Dab some ammonia on them. Careful with the fumes, though!
  • there is also a benedryl gel that you can dab on the bites.
  • For instant relief forget all other suggestions; put a dab of calamine lotion on each bite.
  • Put a cross on them with your fingernail so it hurts and then lick it, repeat 30 times
  • I think an effective way to get you to stop scratching would be...for someone to knock you out till your bites are that bad lol or you can just go to your local drug store and get some after bite cream
  • rubbing alchohol
  • 1. Be patient. Before doing any of this remember, no matter what you do, the itch will never fully go away until the scab or sore has healed. 2. Go into a bathroom and thoroughly wash the affected area with rubbing alcohol before anything else. 3. Put a piece of Scotch Tape (or similar) onto the bite. Leaving it there will make the itch almost entirely go away, and after a few hours, removing it will also remove some of the toxins that cause the itch. 4. Take a nice, relaxing hot bath. 5. Use your fingernail to press "sunbursts" around the mosquito bite. This is a good method if the mosquito bite has popped. 6. Use your fingernail to press an "X" into the bite. This disperses the protein and stops the itch for a while. 7. Use the scalding method: 1. Dip a wash cloth into scalding hot water, but not so hot that it burns your skin. 2. Press the wet part of the cloth against the bite. 3. Hold it there until you feel the bite tingle. 4. Repeat once or twice. Your nerves will be confused and the itching will vanish for hours. The heat causes all the histamine (the protein used by the body to initiate immune responses, which include irritation and itching) in the skin surrounding the bite to be released at once. 8. Rub any of the following fluids and creams on it: * Baking soda and water paste * Lemon or lime, Cut into pieces and rub gently on the affected area, or just squirt a bit juice on it. * Nail polish (preferably clear) Be sure that the bite is not raw from scratching. This keeps it from itching and acts as a seal to protect it. * White or apple cider vinegar, Make sure it is not an open wound, and brush the vinegar on with your finger. * Hydro cortisone cream * Antihistamine and water Rub a little onto the bite and cover with a band aid. You can take a Benadryl as well. * Vicks Vaporub Keep applying Vicks to the area, especially if it rubs off. * Water, Rub on with a cotton ball or q-tip. * Aloe vera * Ice or cold water * Lavender oil * Saliva * Deodorant * Toothpaste * Bar soap pieces * Melaleuca oil (also known as tea tree oil) * Saltwater * Oatmeal * Mud * Oil and vinegar * Banana peel,Rub it against the affected area. * Common Plantain, Either roll leaves of common plantain between fingers to extract juice, or chew on common plantain leaves a little bit, then rub the juicy leaf over mosquito bite. The itch goes away in less than a minute. 9. Put a bit of white vinegar on a tissue and press on the bite. 10. Okay, this may sound a bit weird, but this can be done anytime. Dab some spit onto your finger and rub it onto the bite. Then blow. This will cool the bite an stop the itching.
  • I stop my families bites with Right Guard spray on deoderant. Works every time. Also fast. When my kids went off to the ball games, I used to stick a bounce, fabric softener sheet in their belt loops. The shirt needs to be tucked in though. They seemed to repel the mosquitoes.
  • Go to Wal-Mart and get "Chigger-X" it works well on mosquito bites as well. Very soothing.
