If a person declines attending a party because there is no alcohol, it means that they believe that alcohol is needed to have fun. This is a childish view of life. Parties should be fun outside the alcohol and if alcohol is present it should be in addition to fun.
Anyone who declines the invitation because there will not be alcohol is in effect declining your company and hospitality.
If I knew you and you were my friend, I would come alcohol or none.

Despite my many alcohol related questions and answers, I can have a great time without alcohol. Good company is more important. I can go for long periods of time without thinking about alcohol, but I would go crazy without the company of others.

Yeah, of course. I hate it that people automatically associate party with alcohol, because you don't need alcohol to have a good time. Actually, my friend and I have been holding rave parties each year, and we expressly say on the invitations that no one is to bring or come under the influence of alcohol or any type of drug.
