Funny you should ask. I'm from New York, but typing this from a hotel room in San Francisco. Both are absolutely beautiful, exciting cities. But I'm a born and bred New Yorker, so that would have to be my choice;)
-
San Fransisco, because that's the one I've been to.

SF, hands down, no question. NYC has more variety, but for me there is a comfort factor for two reasons. 1) I have spent enough time in SF to know how to get around, and driving in the city is easier. 2) NYC is really too crowded and people are (over all, and just my opinion) trying too hard to be different.
-
San Fran, without a doubt. New York's good if you're addicted to McDonalds and heroin, but SF comes across as the sort of place you'd go to get away from The Man.
-
San Francisco. I think that New York is too fast pased and besides, my favorite University is in San Francisco, the Academy of Art University.
-
neither, i lived in new york and near the other.

for my taste those are the only two cities in the US worth mentioning. i am from san francisco and have visited NYC extensively... rich in culture, museums, music, art... truly cosmopolitan. its a difficult choice, being that i live in europe now i should probably be more keen on NYC since it is closer and more accessible but my heart still lies in SF where my roots are, the shows i have seen in SF, the stories and the now defunct punk underground i was a part of... ahhh it was truly alive!

Being born in SF and raised very close to the city, It isn't a fair question for me, but I still chose SF even though the city has gone to hell in recent years. THe city council alone in SF is so far gone from reality that they do not represent their people at all.

San Francisco,I hve always liked what I read and heard about the city!!!!!!!!!
-
I would really like to see San Francisco.
-
I have been to SF many time and would live there in an instant and will do so when the opportunity is right. It is liberal minded, has a beautiful bay and countryside, and the weather is fine.I have never had any desire to even visit New York city, for I have known people from NY that have left that city ,and could not see myself in such a congested area.
-
New York City is my choice. I don't even need to think about that. I might actually move there after I get out of college...kind of like a trial by fire.
-
San Francisco. It is cleaner, more attractive, has many good restaurants. Is also “world class”.
-
San Francisco. born here, and live here.
-
NYC baby all the way!
-
San Francisco
-
Of the two, I would choose New York. I like the seasons and New York has better weather.
