Intelligence, definitely... I'd say intelligence is more of a 'capability' to have great knowledge and apply it effectively, whereas pretty much anyone can learn anything with the proper education... Really though I'm not so fussy about the mental part of things, as long as they are a good person at heart and aren't total idiots, I'm happy : D

Inate intelligence is more important than book smarts. They are often confused. Some people with tons of education can't assimilate the information they have gathered.
