  • I talk in my sleep all the time. Most of the time, I'm asking questions, like "What?" or "Why?". I only really do it when my sleep is light, and I usually vaguely remember having a conversation with someone in a dream. Sometimes I'm still lightly talking "in my sleep" as I start to wake up, and then realize I was doing it, but most of the time other people tell me, like presumably you tell your boyfriend. I think it happens with intense dreams, and ESPECIALLY when you're in a light sleep having a focused, conversational dream. In light sleep states, the line between conscious and subconscious is a lot thinner, and both levels of mental function sort of bleed together. This also happens in sleep paralysis, where people often suffer vivid and frightening hallucinations a few moments before fully waking up, because their subconscious is still active.
