  • A guy came up behind me and tried to cut my leg off with a machete. 32 stiches Thought I was someone else (or so he said). Happened in Mississippi
  • When I was in the 2nd grade I was looking in our cabinets to see what we had to eat & I didn't realize it was as floppy as it was & I leaned on the doors & it toppled over on top of me. When that happened about 20 wine glasses came down on me & a piece of glass flipped up & cute my ankle. I had to have 6 stiches. Scared me to death & made me feel so bad because that was my moms favorite glasses.
  • I sliced my achilles tendon and needed 36 stitches (It was on a piece of glass )and right across my knee cap needed 52 stitches for that one. ( I ran into a childs gate you put up to keep them from going room to room..it was dark and I forgot it was up and went running to answer the phone)
  • 2yrs old: My babysitter took me to the doctor, they wouldn't let her come back with me, the nurse sat me on the examining table and left.... I fell off and busted my chin open, 5 stitches. 5 years old: my birthday.... I was excited, dad came home and I jumped out of the tub(put on a towel) and tried to run into the living room, we were going to go to showbiz pizza. I slipped and busted my chin open on my little sister's wooden potty-training toilet a handle that lowered the desk attachment went all the way through by chin into my mouth.... 4 stitches... I remember that after the blood stopped I tried to drink some water and it came through my chin. 17 years old: I had my wrist crushed by a fast moving warehouse door. I was doing volunteer work, the door started to fly open and almost hit my 4 year old cousin, I shoved her out of the way with my right hand and tried to stop the door with my left. I had to have surgery to fix my wrist... 24 staples and stitches underneath.
  • Ok - I cracked my head on the back of a bookshelf once and recieved exactly one stitch, haha I also broke both ankles in a rock climbing accident and instead of stitches they used staples - I had about 25 in each foot. Having those removed was by far the most painful thing I have ever gone through - more so than actually breaking the bones.
  • I had over 100 stitches after giving birth to my son, due to delivery complications. I've had several sets of stitches, mostly due to surgeries. I did have a set of stitches on my left thumb where the top of the pad was reattached. I slipped with a large Chef's knife. You can't even tell now, my thumb looks perfect, like nothing ever happened.
  • I had 4 or so stitches just about at my hairline when I was 2 and fell over a rolled up rug and banged my head. I had "a lot" of stitches after my daughter was born to repair the tearing. I asked how many, and the doctor said she didn't count, but it was "a lot". I know it was at least three layers or so, and it took over two months to heal fully. THAT was... less than exciting.
  • Yes, when I had my wisdom teeth removed. Fortunately they were the dissolving kind and I didn't need them to be removed.
  • Here is my list, and this is not an exaggerated at all: forehead at age 4 from borther pushing me into the end table : 6 stitches. reconstructive knee surgery, old school method: 47 stitches. 2nd knee surgery to remove screws from tibia: 8 stitches. 3rd knee surgery, patella scrape of calcium deposits: only 4 stitches (orthoscopic). Back of head from wine bottle (working as an MP) 8 stitches.
