My brother and I got bit the same night, on the same arm, whilst on a camping trip. Thankfully it was the last night, and I was home within 24 hours.
I kept mine clean, soaked my whole elbow in scalding hot water three times a day, and kept it bandaged with antibiotics at night.
My brother ignored his. He thought it looked "cool"
Mine healed in a week, and didn't leave a scar.
My brother got MRCA (A staph infection) and had to have a 3" circle cut out of his arm.
I think it was a banana spider.
Anyone have a idea on how to get rid of spiders, out of a house? And before anyone comes up with the funny/hot answer. I have no plans on burning the house down.....LOL.

I have no problems with small spiders on webs. It\'s the brown ones that scuttle around the basement floor that really get me.

I don't know for certain that it was a banana spider, that's just what the doctor that treated my brother suggested it may have been. Of course... he's not an entomologist... so why am I listening to him?

They have whats call a "brown widow" spider in Florida thats many times more deadly then the black but smaller...I heard it's making it's way up north...that could of been it

Those are nasty buggers...
No, if it had been a recluse, I would probably be dead, or at least have had my arm removed. Those things cause gangrene in minutes.
What I had was more like a glorified fire ant bite.
