  • Yes....in my own state. I believe it is because in my area people are always in a hurry, traffic is crazy, people are always busy. but just 100 miles south from me people are more easy going. Less traffic. so I think traffic makes people bitter.
  • Yes. Pretty much every state has areas that are more laid back than other parts. I think it's the density of the population that makes part of the difference.
  • Ive got to say yes, in portland oregon as a matter of fact. I moved here from california, and boy was i surprised. As far as what causes it? For orgonians, id have to say the clean air maybe? Lack of as many toxic chemicals compared to california.
  • Yes. My state is quite large. My city often makes it near the top of several nationwide lists such as "friendliest city in the US." There's a large city about 7 hours away that has never appeared on that list, to my knowledge.
  • Yes. I live in Southeastern Wisconsin and when I went by the Mississippi River, everyone just stared at us like we were foreigners. In Milwaukee its different in every part you go in. I think all the other cities, Franklin, Muskego, Waukeesha, Greendale, Greenfield, Mequon, West Allis, seem a little bit friendlier.
  • When I worked at 7 different stores that my boss owned - I found that as well -in each store the people treated you different - How sad that is and all in a 50 mile radius from one another , the stores + 5
  • Yes, I think that people in Northern California are a lot friendlier than people in Southern California.
  • I live in Australia so we don't have as many states as our American friends but I notice that people in the country are alot nicer than in the city. They smile more and take the time to talk.
  • The people in Upstate New York are FAR nicer than those in NYC and on Long Island.
  • Yes, and I've lived all over the USA. The nicest people were the Catholics who looked after themselves and others and very aware that God was watching. They also had a better work ethic. (I'm not Catholic btw) The worst place was a poorly educated, reverse snobbery place that hated just about everyone who wasn't from around there. They thought no one suffered more then they, and they were angry about it. Truth is: they weren't suffering more then anyone else. They couldn't find a job because they couldn't get along with anyone. I think it all comes down to the attitude & accountability of the masses.
