  • Yes it should be legalised, it is in Holland so why not in the states, it will not boost the economy cause there is nothing like your own home-grown, people will grow their own, maybe if they export it, but the question is to where, where else will it be legal?
  • Its a very confusing issue. Where I live(California, USA). The City of Los Angeles says its legal to have medical marijuana shops. You can also get a note from a doctor to use medical marijuana. However, The federal government of the USA raids and puts in jail some of the people using the medical marijuana. So you have to be real careful in California if you are gonna smoke marijuana. I dont smoke marijuana myself.I find it has very nasty spiritual side effects on me. I know other people who view it differently though.
  • Definitely. That'll be a blow to all of those gun nuts.
  • Yes just look at the example set by the Netherlands.
  • legalising would create huge revenue, but having more people smoking marijuana isnt good, it could decrease productivity, then again, people can get it readily now, so why not. there should be regulation, ie age limits, health warnings, etc
  • thats tough to answer because if it was legal how many people would start smoking it and if they are already smoking it when it changes what makes them want to buy it at inflated prices when they could buy it illegaly for cheaper
  • Absolutely! Marijuana (when compared to the other shit people are abusing) is probably the safest thing out there. Just look at it no physical addiction no serious health side effects (unless you go ape shit on it like a dumbass, just like food, you can only use it so many times, just look at our obesity problem, are they gonna make food illegal next?) Theres a fine line with everything, as long as your responsible about it, youll be just fine. As far as the economy goes, as long as the united states still made it illegal to distribute without a license, it would probably make all the difference in the world Bottom line, if its legal to destroy my lungs, heart, and liver...i should be allowed to get high without killing myself
  • Quiet simply Marijuana was outlawed not because of the danger of it's use but because Harry Anslinger lied to congress and said that marijuana causes "a violent effect on the degenerate races." He meant Mexicans that had come into the US looking for work. He then lied to them again and said that the AMA supported the law when in fact they weren't only against it, but SUED when the law passed. How can we support a law we know was passed on the back of ignorence, racism and blatant intolerence?
  • Yes, no it would be much different than the cigarette tax. Right now we spend billions of our tax dolors on The Drug War - those billions would be cut from the budget and then you can add the taxes gained from the sale of cannabis. That is a shit load of money we would gain compared to what we now spend on anti-drug programs ...not to mention everyone who wants to consume cannabis already has or currently does. Use might increase a little but the model policy of Netherlands/Amsterdam has a lower cannabis use rate. Lets call off the cannabis prohibition and get rid of these wanna be Al Capones.
  • Marijuana basically has only positive effects, for the person and for society, so why should it be illegal in the first place?
  • I don't know how this could be possible unless they let users grow their own. MJ is not like cigarettes it is hard to control the amount of THC in each plant. Can you imagine how pissed off someone would be to buy a pack and it not be as good as the last pack they bought.
  • Yep--if it were legal, then it could be taxed...more bucks into the coffers, lol...it should be legalized, no way to control growth of a native plant!
  • This question has been asked , though I say sure , people will be charged even higher than it goes for on the streets though , Taxes
  • Yes, I do absolutely think it should be legalized.
  • Yes I do.
  • yes and yes it can boost the economy yes theres nothing like your own home grown but how many people do you see growing their own tobacco its 2009 not to many people have the time or patience for farming
