i think it shouldnt really matter, they are who they are now. if you both love each other then it shouldnt make any difference whether they had been a dog before.(pardon the example)

I would feel lied to, betrayed and mortified. But then, after 10 years of being invested in this person and if I truly loved them and they brought me happiness, I would have to "think" my way out it. It would take a LONG time, and even then I don't know if I could do it..but I would be willing to TRY. Best of luck.
