  • theres a degree of personal perspective that comes into play, we can find happiness when we want to from whatever, although negativity from others and oneself will create a problem, its the minds job to overcome that
  • I tend to agree with your mother. If you have a positive attitude to life and see the good in people and experiences you're more likely to be happy than if you have a negative approach. It's the old glass half full/half empty thing, optimists are happier than pessimists.
  • No, I don't.... I hate sincerely this line of thought that if one is miserable, they must want to be miserable. I don't make myself anything.... if I could make my brain think happy thoughts all the time I might.... I think anyone who has that happy disposition is lying to themselves and headed for a horrible break down. I do not have the ability to create happiness out of my misery. I don't think anyone does. I can't lie to myself as some people can.... I tried to force possible thought and have since been told "you do not force it or it wont work" Okay if you dont force it..... then how the #### is it supposed to work? If I came by it naturally I wouldn't have been trying that approach. It is stupidity and bieng able to lie to yourself completely!!! Then again I also have severe chronic clinical depression..... so take it as you will.
  • Yes. The only way to be happy is that. To BE happy.Regardless of any outside influences, it really is that simple
  • Focusing on the good things in life will certainly make a person feel better. This happiness acts as a magnet to draw other people to us. Positive social interactions continue to build happiness. Almost like a perpetual happiness machine.
  • Best book on the subject, and quickest road to happiness, is "Happiness is a Serious Problem" by Dennis Prager, or his weekly "Happiness Hour" that you can get either by radio or on the internet at Pragerradio.com. You can find more than fifty 35-minute lectures under "show clips" at that web address.
