That they are very helpful? No. I don't really believe that. I read about a kid who killed himself because he got a C grade in school. The rest of his grades were A's. It's not right for sites like that to exist because suicide should be as difficult as possible to achieve.

I think that they are socially unacceptable. They might be illegal. But im not sure. I guess its your life and you can do what you want with it even though it is frowned apon. I dont personally approve of them.

I think they are not helpful

This is a tricky one. Whilst I'm for free speech and understand why people would want to find this information, I do not think these sites are morally acceptable. I don't think suicide is ever really the correct course of action (I realise pain drives some people to think it is, though) and instructions would seem to encourage it. The advice to people contemplating suicide should be to get help or the sites themselves should offer help. Advice from those who have experienced such pain and have contemplated such thoughts would probably be invaluable to people thinking of taking their lives. I'm sure individuals sometimes get sick of being advised to get help but it's the only option, I hate to think anyone would be pushed or even aided into taking their own life (although euthanasia does open a different avenue of this debate). A further ethical question is - is it better for someone to receive no help at all even if they may have decided on suicide already and could end up suffering even more due to a failed/slow painful suicide attempt? I struggle with this one personally, although ultimately I feel it is probably best to offer no advice at all due to the wider impact. This kind of thing is never clear cut, suicide is a horrible subject and life is so precious and fragile but there is usually suffering coming in from both sides.

morrally, and socially unacceptable.

They all end up in a dead end
-
Morals have nothing to do with this. If they want to they will. If they don't want to they are always found in time to be saved. Frankly, it they want to let them.

I think about half of them are a little tongue in cheek/not seriously condoning suicide. The other half... weellll, freedom of speech does cover it. What is more painful, trying and ending up in severe pain/ incapacitated or succeeding?

...Can you give me a link?

I've seen those pages and i think that the info there is true but you don't need to go there if you wanna commit suicide you just do and don't seek any advice on how to do it.
-
pretty sad. suicide is a permanent act usually in reaction to a temporary situation.
-
They are very unfortunate. I don't know why somebody would create one.
