I always feel guilty when my parents give me money, even though I'm working my way through college and they offer. How can I get over this guilt and feeling like I am a burden?

Don't worry about it, they give you money because they care about you-you might cause more offence by refusing it!

Remember that on the grand scheme of things, money doesn't matter. It is just something for trade. They don't give you money instead of paying their bills, so you don't need to worry about it. I feel that way too.

What you do is take more money, more often and you will eventually be desensitized to the feelings of guilt. But I wouldn't do that, those feelings of guilt are a safeguard for you that will prevent you from taking unfair advantage of them.

Don't worry about the guilty feeling, that just means you were raised right. Let them show you they love you and they want to help you.

As long as you are working and getting good grades, think of it as a reward. If that doesn't work, at least think that in the future you can pay your parents back by helping them when they are in their elderly years.

Be a good kid and don't Break Balls.There will come a day many years from now that you will be asked to return the favor . When your family members are sick and weak. and you can be there for them. and be strong for them like they were for you.Then you'll truly understand the meaning of FAMILY.Nobody is keeping score,and they obviously feel like you are more than worth the investment.
