Of course! However, ultimately, it's up to the religion you want to join. Some religions and denominations take a very dim view of Catholics, and may forbid your membership based upon past affiliation.
-
Of course, no matter what denomination you were originally, you can feel free to enter any Catholic Church and they will welcome you with open arms.
-
Of course I used to be a Catholic , but found I wasn't being taught the truth from the Bible , but falsehoods such as immortality of the soul, hellfire, trinity , etc, no such thing in the Bible , so began studying the Bible with Jehovah's witnesses and found the truth .

Yes, just go...How can the Church stop you?
-
well i did, i was baptised into the catholic church..i left it and now attend a bible based non denominational bible thumping..sing it loud church..i love it
-
You can always switch religions. and your former religion will almost always take a dim view of it.
-
The meaningless rituals of one religion don't really affect the meaningless rituals of one you want to switch to. Religions make it that way so you can convert easier.
-
There is nothing to stop you leaving the church if that is what you want.
-
Seems like a waste of time to go through getting baptised if you're switching religions at the same time.

There are religions that worship cows, pigs, and other animals. Then there is Buddhism that teaches reincarnation of animals (ants, dogs, cats, etc.) to human or vice versa depends on the good deeds you've done on your former life. Compare to these religions, Catholics and Protestants are 99% the same. They share the same bible and teaching for the first 15 centuries. After the separation by Martin Luther, there were some changes to his version of the bible but most (more than 95% for sure) of the content are still exactly the same - word by word. We sometimes put too much effort on the differences and not enough focus on the similarities. The main theme of the bible, regardless of what denomination you are, is: "God loves you". He died a horrific death on the cross for your sins and my sins. So let's each one of us find our way back to the Lord. At the end of the day, it's not about the church. It's about your personal relationship between you and the one who love you and died for you.

I'll presume like most U were "Baptized" as an "Infant" when U could do or say nothing about it??? Don't they call that "Rape", being Forced even if it was "Well Intended"??? The Doctrine I give U here should explain all about "Baptism" & Ur "Part" in it. Enjoy!!! John

Yes you can go wherever you choose, but if you really want to formally leave the church, it's best if you put it in writing and give the letter to the church, otherwise you are still listed in their rolls as a member, even if you never attend again. That may not matter to you, or maybe it does.

If you are becoming another form of Christanity then no, you do not. Baptisem has the same meaning in every sect of christanity. That is why people becoming Catholics from Protastant secs do not have to get baptized.
