I guess it just takes practise - you're told what to do, you do it totally wrong and fall... you're told what to do, you do it wrong and fall..... You're told what to do again and you only get it a little bit wrong and you fall.... you're told again and this time you get it right and stay up, and once you've got it, you'll hardly fall again... getting there is the hard part, staying there is nothing! x

Not really hard but you can have quite a lot of falls. Strong legs and lots of practise help. http://www.wsu.edu/~brians/errors/practice.html

Sorry guys. Brain fart. When I wrote this question I was really thinking about that relatively new kite skiing, or kite surfing, were you hang on to this big u shaped kite and let it pull you back and fort in the surf. Looks incredible and I just must do that. I have water skiied for 35 yrs, though not much in recent years. Does anyone know about the kite surfing? Expensive to learn? Is it much like windsurfing? I've done that. Sorry for the brain fart.
