I think of all the silly little wannabe's in music today who want to claim that term. It takes MANY MANY years to achieve diva status. You don't get there on your stuck up attitude alone. The term was originally used to describe a woman of rare, outstanding talent--someone in Opera. The real TRUE divas today are women like: Aretha Franklin, Cher, Tina Turner, (the late) Beverly Sills, (the late) Maria Callas, Bette Middler, Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey.
