Maybe it was my question. I asked something like: If you were to see your doppleganger on the street how would you react? A doppleganger is someone's ghostly twin.

Doppelganger is a double. Usually, it's used to mean somebody who looks just like another person (i.e., the belief that every person has a double in the world), but it can also mean in behavior and actions. There are more mystical beliefs associated with the Doppelganger, such as the idea that it is a spiritual being who appears to give advice or cause trouble. But that's not usually the definition being used when people reference a Doppelganger in conversation. Incidentally, Doppelganger is German, and it literally means "doublewalker." Edit: after reading killdrphil's answer, I realize that you probably ARE referencing the second definition. But my answer stands. :-)
