The expression goes "show me your friends and I will tell you who you are" Eventually, who knows, her evil ways might have rubbed off on you. You probably feel more free to have this miserable person out of your life. Congratulations on liberating yourself. When she screws with the wrong person some day and ends up dead in an alley, you won't be so heartbroken at her funeral.

You followed your conscience and that's a healthy thing for you to do to take care of yourself. Sounds like you've grown up and your friend has stayed very immature. It's my feeling that you made a wise choice.

It would be your turn eventually. People like this usually go through everyone they know at some point. It's a shame, but there's probably not much you could do about it. She probably has some sort of problem with herself and turns it on others, and w/o serious counseling and wanting help, it'll just keep going on.

Did you tell her that's why you didn't want to be friends anymore? If you did, perhaps she will eventually see that her mind games are hurting her, too. You were definitely right to stand up for your values... ignoring such a big character flaw sends the silent message that her behavior is acceptable to you. You did the right thing and you will be at peace with that decision very soon.
