I use a soft bristled type. I just gently stroked her with it and the hair just came off.

I like the shed-ender (as seen on TV!) It works well on my long-haired cat, Tootsie. She tends to get mats and to shed alot. This has helped. I found it at CVS.

The Fur-minator. Expensive but it actually WORKS. Similar (I think) to the Shed-Ender.

My cat has passed on now after her 14 yrs on the earth. I used to have this thing called the "love glove." It had little rubber nobs on the palm side and you just pet your cat and it pulled all the dead hair off. It was great and I'm sure they still make something similar now. It was easy because your cat thinks you are just petting it. My cat used to attack the brush after a few strokes and it made it tough to brush her.

I usually don't brush the cats but did try to brush Cecil the other day. He has stange think clumpy fur that always sheds. I used two or three different types of brushes and a comb before he had enuf.
