The best teachers I had CARED about all of us and that's the most important attribute of many professionals - nurses, doctors, firefighters, policemen, teachers, etc - that they care.

I used to think that my best teacher was a choir director I had, who loved to entertain, to be the center of attention. But that's all he taught us. Really, my favorite teacher was my junior/senior English teacher in hs. Through her assignments, she challenged us and allowed us to be creative. She made me face (and overcome)some of my insecurities, and she always saw us as people (not just students, or problems, or new opportunities to fulfill old dreams).
