Could you please clarify a bit more? Are you saying that you think that the financial problems are directly related to parenthood, and that you had no financial problems before you had children? I'm just trying to better understand what you're asking.

I feel your pain! My best suggestion would be to hang in there, things will get better, and try to set up a budget... I think the biggest piece of advice I'd have is just try not to get behind in your bills. Once you get behind it like snowballs into this never ending debt...

If you have a lot of debt, talk to a credit counsellor who may be able to help you with a consolidation loan to pay off the debts and you'll have one payment only. Sometimes they can even talk to your creditors and get them to reduce the debt...better they get something, than nothing if you have to declare bankcruptcy. Cut up your credit cards, especially the retail store ones as the interest rate is horrendous. Keep one credit card....call them and negotiate a lower interest rate in exchange for transferring other cards balances onto it. They often will do that...they want all your debt on their card and will reward you. (I have one credit card right now with 1.9% interest rate for the next 4 months. I transferred all other cards to it and will be able to pay that off now in 3 months)...Or go to a bank loans officer and ask for a line of credit or loan to pay off all credit card debt....much lower interest rate.

Have you talked to anyone at your local Health and Human Services Department? They can assist you with many things such as discounted gas and electric and food stamps. Even with employment and child care. Another option might be the Administration for Children and Families. They have a lot of programs available if you qualify. Here are the web sites. Keep your head up things will get better soon. Good luck to you. http://www.hhs.gov/about/index.html http://www.acf.hhs.gov/
