I just wrote a article on the debate , which I sent a copy to the AB'ers on Facebook -- On do you think the predators have rights when caught / Is Dateline over stepping their media --- I did really good - I believe the predator should have no rights - They choose to walk in that house on their own - I've remained at number 3 so far , so thats neat + 5

Since they were chased out of town in a recent incident, I believe they will be more interactive with the law enforcement agencies in the future. That way, they will have far more legal clout. What they accomplish is a very good thing.

I think they should do the show until EVERY weirdo in America is locked up! No one asks these guys to flirt and speak pornagraphically to these children. No one asks these freaks to get in their cars and drive HOURS in the hope that they might do something horrible to CHILDREN. No one asks them to send sexually explicit pictures over the internet to some 12, 13, or 14 year old female/male child. They do these perverted things because of their own perverted desires. The way I look at it, and statistics show, that if they are catching over 200 creeps so far, (with 117 guilty verdicts or confessions), that just as many and EVEN MORE are doing it and not being caught. Just recently, here in D-FW, they caught a guy in the Burger King parking lot that was there to pick up a 14 year old boy for sex. He was in his 40's or 50's. The boys Mom had "accidently" come across the E-Mail on her son's computer. I say PROTECT OUR CHILDREN, AT ANY COST. I hope Dateline does it until they can't catch any more people.

I love it. It reminds us our kids are vulrable to those freaks and that we need to pay attention to what goes on in our kids lives. It also helps people to understand just how vile and sneaky those guys are. And if it gets Dateline ratings good for them. They deserve them for doing this. As for entrappment, since I know it's going to come up, hardly. Nobody goes looking for these guys. They just post a profile or go to a chat room and in minutes some guy's trying to talk to them. And this includes children only chat rooms. Nobody leads the conversation to sex, but the preditor. Nobody asks them for pornographic pictures. These guys offer them up on their own. The decoy doesn't ask for the meeting, they do. And nobody holds a gun to their head and make them get in their car and drive out there bearing gifts. All the decoy does is keep it going as the preditor leads it there. It's so they can get enough evidence of intent to get these guys off the street and in jail where they belong. If you don't believe me go to Perverted Justice and see for yourself. They post every transcript they get from these guys. And they are horrific.

It's great. These people need a consequence that actually gets their attention. I think life shattering by national televised public humiliation is a good start. I just feel bad for the families who don't know, and have to find out from the TV.

I think it's great, although it does kind of sensationalize the issue.
-
I think that it's a good show.

There's no question they're doing a good thing, but I can't help but wonder if we should be watching it all unfold. I am curious as to what this says about us (she says while watching the show in question). I also wonder about their motives. The show is very sensational.

It's sensational and inflammatory. It twists the reality of a very complex group of issues to a very narrow sliver - that its all about the pedophile. On the other hand... It's valuable in that it may get some parents to pay more attention to what their children are up to online. Albeit it accomplishes this through shocking tactics...otherwise the average person wouldn't pay attention. Says alot about the average person. It doesn't address the fact that most underage bloggers bear some responsibility in getting themselves into these situations. Statistics show that very few children are lured, but rather the average underage blogger takes an active role - that they know what they are doing and are not coerced - i.e. setting up a rendezvous. It proves that the average pedophile is an idiot - so the chances are high that they will be caught and successfully convicted. It proves that the average pedophile can't keep their mouth shut. It proves that the average pedophile is overwhelmingly male.

I think the idea behind the show is great to help prevent our children from being assaulted sexually by adults. However, I firmly believe that by replaying the episodes repeatedly it embarrasses the families of the alledged "predators". After the original airing of the show each of the families had to deal with their friends and extended family and the accompaning embarrassment. I dont know anyone envolved in this "investigation" but after these people are in jail I think enough is enough. Try and thinkl of how it affects the families and friends of these people. NBC is not law enforcement and should not be involving themselves in law enforment situations.

I love that show and am happy about every perv they catch. I am just astonished at what some of these guys do for a living, i.e. a cop, a preacher, a teacher. I am was also shocked when they caught the same guy twice. What an idiot. They all deserve castration.
