I first heard "Fifty Nifty United States" as the lead-in to a segment on the Perry Como TV show. Each week they'd do a little film/skit/song about a different state. I didn't know it was a children's song. I wonder if the TV show adapted a children's song or if the song was written for the TV show and BECAME a children's song? Anyway, I still sing it to myself now and then, though I don't know all the words. I like the melody. I've never heard of Mr. Golden Sun.

I like 50 Nifty. I am a substitute music teacher, and teach it to grades 1-3 every year for our Flag Day celebration.

I'm 21 and I still sing the Fifty Nifty song to people to impress them. -__- There is a song about all the presidents that I would like to learn... When I was little, I sang Mr. Golden Sun, although that song always got annoying fast.

Mr. Golden sun is awesome! *Mr. Golden Sun, sun, Mr. Golden Sun Please shine down on me!* never heard the other
