I have no problem with Bratz - Barbie dresses just as bad sometimes. That TV show they have conveys some really positive messages about self esteem and friendship. I'm the only parent I know who doesn't hate them, however.

They might be, they may encourage girls to wear skimpy clothing. They may show girls that they can sing and become famous which may not happen. That could lead to some emotional drama later. They are somewhat bad.

I think that something that markets to 8-10 year old girls that comes with champagne bottles and champagne flutes is bad enough, nevermind the "secret date" addition where the doll is sneaking out to go on a date. Those being the less obvious minimum, I will not be allowing my daughter to own Bratz dolls.

I think so... they've made these dolls look like painted whores! They have them in mini skirts and high heels and slutty belly tops... It's really not the best look for a doll for a little kid!

Generally speaking, all commercially made dolls are bad influences for female children. They tell them that it's natural to be shallow.

I think that they are an example of how not to dress/look, and as such, I wouldn't want my daughter to have them. Barbie is bad enough, but at least Mattel has made her with human proportions now. But then, I also wouldn't let my daughter have clothes which labeled her a "brat" or "little devil" or any of the other things which I see girls wear that are supposed to be cute. And expecially no on clothing with writing on the rear end. I think all of that stuff is tacky.

The name itself should scream "don't buy me". I have a problem with the kids identifying with a doll that dresses like a hooker and wears a pound of makeup. If they're young enough to still play with dolls, they're too young to be into that sort of attitude, IMO.

No more so than Barbie...The influence of the toys is also dependent on the influence of the parenting. The moral of the story is that parents should be parenting their kids and not allowing them to get their morals from toys or tv.

I believe they are a bad influence, but there is so much of that around these days. Even the clothes for children are reflecting this look - provocative outfits that some adults wouldn't even wear. All the signals children are receiving encourage children to explore their sexuality at a much too young age. It's a bit scary.

i think bratz is the best doll for kids they show that its ok to be them selfs and that it ok to do what you like.

Good question.My husband and i have had many arguments with our child about bratts.I'll admit i thought my husband was going over board about them,saying they are tarty,so oneday he made me sit and watch the bratts series and i was suprised at the way they were and the tarty clothing.They should bring back the good old sindy that was out in the early 80s without the trashy clothing and dvds.Even the sindy house was great what do you get these day cheap thin plastic lasts 2month tacky house or camper.

they are not bad in fluence on girls i mean sure barbies were cool befor 2001 and a little bit after but now barbies are having a hard time catching up with the bratz.and why is that ,because they are more poular they sell more and sure littel kids play with barbies untill they turn 7 years old or 6 year old. my littel sister she prefers bratz more then barbies we like to collect some but not play with.barbies when you put them into differnt outfits they show parts unlike bratz.barbies have become wors then then bratz sence 2003 some parents dont even want there child(ren) to play with polly pocket or even myscean dolls because they think that they are like bratz.like come on people this is a bratz bashing website and if people want to bash like the others even if they don't want to there should not be a website like this me (kool kat) and meggie are right about this and you people now this

Well they all want them and I cant remember the last time i actually wanted to call my child a brat out of kindness or love... And I have never sent my kids to school looking like Jr. League prostitutes either. So... They are only bad if offered in silence and left to their peers to figure out what is right and wrong concerning them. It is the parents lack of input and education on self esteem and self knowledge that makes them good or bad and nothing else. That is actually how they legally and morally get away with selling them in the first place.

yes. the bratz doll can be a negative influence on little girls... but kids don't think like that. these dolls are multicultured, unlike the blonde bimbo barbie. this can help girls become more open to different cultures and be more accepting. this can prevent prejudice in their future. I have a niece who plays with these dolls, like any other dolls. she doesn't think of the word skimpy or slutty when she sees these dolls, she just sees herself playing, thats all. so get over yourselves%
