  • Those damn crows in the morning.
  • May be he is not that confident being manual.
  • Two words: Zombie Apocalypse.
  • To them a rifle keeps their home self and property protected. At least that is what some people have expressed to me.
  • those damn neighborhood kids getting on the lawn, "Get off ma lawn you damn kids" lol i actually know someone in a suburban neighborhood that does that
  • Automatic and Semi-Automatic are 2 very different things. There is a good reason for Semi-Automatics, mostly in shotguns for hunting birds. In rifles it is somewhat more questionable. The case can be made that when hunting game that could harm you a Semi-Automatic is needed. I do not feel any fully automatic weapon can be justified for hunting or self-defense purposes and I am a gun owner and NRA member. The NRA thinks everyone should be able to own any gun the like, even fully automatic weapons. I disagree. Only the military should have fully automatic weapons.
  • apart from having seen to many movies I really don't have a clue.
  • I would question the sanity myself. It is an unnecessary killing machine that should be totally banned under all circumstances including the military.
  • Well, they're fun to shoot, and they'll go through your paycheck at about $20 a minute. (Much like a high end stripper.) Seriously, unless you are planning to defend your homeland from it's own oppressive government or some busybody country coming in and telling you what's good for your own people, you probably don't need one. Of course, nothing like that has ever happened, or ever will. Right? Full auto fire is good for morale, but it's bad for marksmanship.
  • Engineer - Quote: May be he is not that confident being manual. LMAO!! (For some reason I can't add comments. Sorry bout that.)
  • To improve my odds when I am clay pigeon shooting!
  • What difference does it make if a law abiding citizen has an automatic rifle? I am not going to use it for robbing a bank, I am not going to attack a McDonald's with one, unless they get my order wrong again. So if I had one and used it, it would only be out on a firing range somewhere. That would not hurt you would it? Or anyone else. Oh, yeah, the "someone might break into your house and steal it" argument comes up. That is why there are firearms safes with locks, and false ceilings to hide things. I am 54 years old and have never had a break in where a gun was stolen. I guess it could happen. Besides, it isnt all that hard to make a semi-automatic into an automatic given the right tools.
  • Each and every person I have asked has told me, "Because I should be able to if I want to."
  • Why not? Some people enjoy collecting and owning different types of things.
  • Not to be flip, but I hope the ONLY persons who want to own automatic rifles are sane.
  • because at a certain point in time this supposed 'sane' person had a fit of insanity and became brainwashed into believing that he/she would be safer owning a rifle. which statistically isn't true. but who cares about statistics its our constitutional right, right!!!??? i say, arm the homeless.
  • because they are marvels of engineering
  • simpel!INSANE persons Have them.
  • they're fun
  • To keep my freedom.
  • because if the need to use one would arise i want to be the person that lives.
  • One of the most rewarding aspects of owning an M4 carbine is that the thought of it keeps other people awake at night wondering what my intentions are. At least I can be assured they won't come knocking on my door bringing me any attitude about it, all that will be done from a safe distance. I may not have papers that say I'm sane, but I have not been certified insane, yet.
  • cuz their fun to shoot, ecspecily into water lol
