  • From my experience, it depends on the product, I've had good luck with off brand tires, but bad luck with off brand electronics.
  • Sometimes. Sometimes not. Depends on the type of product I think. I know that Little Debbie snack cakes don't taste nearly as good as anything by Hostess.
  • when it comes to medicines, no. other things, maybe, maybe not.
  • No I don't believe there is, I noticed on recall items if a name brand product is pulled the store brand is also pulled so they probably use the same manufacturing plant and just put the store label on the product. As far as taste if varies sometimes there is a noticeable difference other times not. Salt seems to be the qlincher sometimes foods are littered in it and other times not so much.
  • yeah ! Fruit hoops don't taste like fruit loops loL
  • Most seem the same to me, but a few just don't cut it. Generic Golden Grahams cereal is awful. Generic cream of mushroom soup isn't as good. Generic ketchup is usually runny. Generic dish soap is horrible, you have to use half the bottle to get suds in the sink. I don't like generic english muffins, they have a weird texture. Otherwise, I buy mostly generic stuff. Don't see the point in spending extra for the stuff that is the same.
  • Actually, there are a lot of store brand foods that I think taste a lot better than the name brand! I guess it's just the name on it that makes name brand prices so much more than store brand! But there are a few things-like shoes-the better the name, I think the better the shoe, well most of the time! So I guess it all depends on what the product is!
  • It depends. sometimes the generic products are made by the same company in the same factory. They just sell the product and it's labelled to the particular clients needs.
