Guys will dump a chick after they sense any sign the girl is "full" of drama rather than get to know her. Then they'll realize they can't get laid elsewhere and try and crawl back in hopes you take them back. If you say no, they'll move on and eventually find someone but then they end up single again and crawl back because they are desperate. They will do this at least 3x before they officially give up:)

Well, I'm a guy, and I do it only for the sex, and I might keep in touch and have sex with ex-flames even while with a new girlfriend, especially if it's not "official" that we're "exclusive". However, I wouldn't keep in touch with an ex-girlfriend, even if I thought she was a sure-thing now-and-again booty call and the sex was good, if she was just horribly annoying around. I kind of think I still have warm feelings for all the "keepers" in the old black book... not that I'd want to actually date them or anything, but certainly stay friends, and sometimes not JUST for the sex, although it's the primary reason.

I have no idea why guys want to stay in touch. After I sent out my wedding announcements I received two phone calls from exboyfriends they both thought I would get back together with them. I was pretty furious with the callousness of the opposite sex that day.

I stay in touch because I still want to maintain a friendship with that person. A girlfriend is also a friend to me.

Normally they just want a simpathetic shoulder to cry on, or they may want to get lucky. There's a chance that the guy may care, or wants to revisit the possibility, but take things slow....

Well I am sure glad some are out there enjoying this. And yes for a time there were one or more!!! I keep track of. I don't know what my problem really was or still is. I just can not seem to get back into that life stile any more for some reason. Maybe it has something to do with me not shutting up. When I lost my first in a car crash. I just could not think of going through that type of pain again. I would go up west a few miles when the weekends came around. Just to stay away from those who knew me. I seen many on those little week end trips & made many friends. But one night I was staying at a motel & it was just before Christmas. I was reading some cards that I had gotten in the mail that week. When I came across one that had a poem in it that just fit me to the T. I called the person & thanked them for their card. And then asked if I could re-wright it and send it to others. They said sure. So as I began to wright this. I seen a card there by the bed. It was from a pizza place & had a half price sale going on. So I called and made a order. Then as I was on about the 5th copy of that poem. A lady shows up with the pizza. I walked over to get the money for her, when she began reading that poem. She ask if I would place my name on it a give it to her to take. I told her I was not the author of it. So I could not put my name on it. But she could have it to take along. When she left I was setting there eating finishing these copy's when that pizza box gave me a idea. On it were the words Satisfaction Guaranteed. I don't know why but those words got to me. And out of no were came words for me to wright about how & why I was even there in the first place. Well after I was done with my first poem I got up & took it to the place were that lady worked at. She was off on another run at the time. So I put my name on the bottom of the page. Just as she had wanted me to do on the other. I told the workers to tell her thanks for me. Even tho the poem would of done it for me. For the last few words on it were "Satisfaction Guaranteed". About a half hour later she called me & thanked me for what I had written. From that point I've wrote many others & always given them way asking nothing in return. To this day I've found many new friends. No matter if they were my x-girl friends or not. I'll still try to keep in touch with each and all of them as long as I live. Now wake up & go back to sleep my FRIENDS........M.C.S.

well my boyfriends have done that to me many many times and i ask them why and they say " i want to just keep a friendship" And so i guess thats the reason..

It means they have no one and well since they have had sex with you...why not give you a call

I do it because of the comfort factor. When you're hurt after a breakup or something like it, it's easy to regress and fall back on something you're familiar and comfortable with. I never expect sex, although I certainly wouldn't turn it down from any of my ex's. Another possibility, and I've always wondered about this, is that for some guys, dating is a way of "shopping around" for the right girl. Maybe they think they need to try a bunch of them out before going back and trying to reunite with the one they liked best. Too bad life can't be that simple.

Depends, but I often think they want some sympathy.
