  • Well, he SAYS he is. The most commonly told story is that he was a somewhat irresponsible person until he met his wife, Laura. She apparently is deeply religious and succeeded in attracting Mr. Bush to evangelical Christianity.
  • George Bush, himself, said that even after he was married, he was a drinker. He had a problem with alcohol. Fortunately, he didn't allow it to get too serious. He found a support group, which also gave religioius council and teachings, that helped him give up the "booze" and straighten out his life. Because of that group...or church, he has allowed a positive life style to run his life instead of what he had before. I am quite sure his wife played a major part in that, too. Most wives do.
  • No he is not. Born again Christians do not execute people nor do they terrorise people across the globe! Bush is an executioner, 152 executions while governor. Among other things he is a recovering alcoholic and simple research will show he is not Christian in any sense at all, however he does use Christianity for his own purpose and gain. One of the execution chamber's "tie-down team" members, Fred Allen, had to prepare so many people for lethal injections during 2000, he quit his job in disgust. http://www.counterpunch.org/madsen04222003.html George Bush has not said directly that he was ever born again. He has often said he was pointed on the path to God after a discussion with evangelist Billy Graham in 1985. http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6115719/
  • Actaully he is, And is a very strong christian and i greatly admire that!
  • He may be a Christian, i.e. a follower of the faith, but he does act in a Christian way, i.e. a way that expounds Christianity. As a leader of his country his administration has done some useful things, but trying to force a massive war through tenuous 'intelligence' is not one of those things. Overall he will be remembered for his mistakes, and not as any type of great leader.
  • Since religion is self-identifying and he self-identifies as a born-again Christian, the answer is yes - technically. Beyond that, whether or not he truly is a born-again Christian is a subjective opinion that each person has to form on his/her own by evaluating what "born-again Christian" means and comparing George's behavior to that.
  • Apparently "Alatea" must be a god also or have direct connections to God. The only person that knows is the person in question and God himself. Be real careful where you tread!
  • We all need to keep our own back steps swept off and not worry about someone else's steps. We have so many perfect people in this world!
  • This question, according to the Bible, could only really be answered by God. Only She knows a person's heart.
  • Born again NAZI!
  • yes he is. While his father was president Billy Graham led him to Christ.
  • Duplicate question. http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/3604
  • He isn't if you really know the Bible, and it's because he shows an arrogant nature by insisting that things must go his way or else!!! He also has been caught in a multitude of lies and coverups, like the disposing of over a million secretive emails. And he doesn't care that 76% of the public is against him....he still does what HE wants and no one elses. Do a search.. using my words above, and on 'Republican Scandals'. I'm not a democrat, but they have committed far less crimes and mistakes than the conservatives, by a long shot.
  • Here is your answer: http://therealspiel.blogspot.com/2006/10/tempting-faith-how-bush-suckered.html "Tempting Faith" is a new book by David Kuo, who served as special assistant to President Bush from 2001 to 2003. A self-described conservative Christian, Kuo’s previous experience includes work for prominent conservatives including former Education Secretary and federal drug czar Bill Bennett and former Attorney General John Ashcroft. If anyone can answer that question, its this guy!!
  • Any discussion about President Bush’s presumed Evangelicalism is complicated, actually any kind of discussion about the 43rd President of the United States is quite complicated -- But he has often said he was pointed on the path to God after a discussion with evangelist Billy Graham in 1985. George Walker Bush may even genuinely be a 'Born-Again Christian', but he certainly doesn’t behave like a spiritually-regenerated one. Anyway, today, as the first Born-Again Christian President to be convicted of drunk driving, President Bush is devoted to addressing crime deterrence with the same common-sense mass executions that proved so effective during his stewardship of the great 'republic' of Texas.
  • Read this: http://www.slate.com/id/2186343/entry/2186349/ "Tempting Faith" is a book written byDavid Kuo, who served as special assistant to the president from 2001 to 2003. A self-described conservative Christian, Kuo’s previous experience includes work for prominent conservatives including former Education Secretary and federal drug czar Bill Bennett and former Attorney General John Ashcroft. Kuo, who has complained publicly in the past about the funding shortfalls, goes several steps further in his new book. If anyone can answer this question, its him!
  • You should ask him, it's not my place or others to assume anything. There is too much gossip to believe what is real and/or fake. So who really knows, him.
  • If he's a born again, does that ogive us another chance at abortion??
  • G.W.Bush is many things to many people. He may be "born again" but I don't think it "took" the second time around either. Frankly - if he's a Christian then I'm a cho-cho train.
  • Ha...don't make me laugh! He may say he is but that is just to win the vote at the time of the gullable Christian vote.
  • I think the whole Republican Party has been playing the Religous right. They tell them what they want to hear, while the follow their own agenda.
  • He may have claimed to be a Christian, but he is not. To wit: 1.) In 2005, Bush said this during a Cabinet meeting, and was overheard by several staff members: "Stop throwing the Constitution in my face, it’s just a goddamned piece of paper!" 2.) Bush, like all US Presidents, swore the following oath of office during his inaguration: "I do solemnly swear that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States." Therefore, Bush is clearly NOT a Christian.
