from a totally economically point of view it will promote a higher standard of living overall, i hate paying 48k usd for a bmw 318i when its a lot cheaper in germany and the usa. so why have such protection anyway, just for a few people over the 95% of the population?

It is good for the overall economy if all parties concern play by the same rules. By that I mean, not subsidizing home industry so as to make them more competitive for export. Similar labor laws etc. But that is not real world.

Restrictions reduce the wealth of the world! Period.

It already proven not to work and the less wealthy countries had and do have the most to loose.The restrictions should be in place and that benefits all countries concerned.The North American Trade agreement was the first useless form of free trade.
